Termination Methods and Guardianship: Voluntary termination, guardianship, elements of an action for involuntary termination of parental rights

Most terminations of parental rights, even those that start as a contest, end with voluntary termination or by default. Knowledge of the options for voluntary termination of parental rights, particularly when and how to use each, is necessary for all adoption cases, from the simplest to the most complex. 

And there is more. The right guardianship can create a 500-pound gorilla. How does that work, and how do you get that for your clients? And if the necessary party won’t consent, what are the basic elements of an involuntary termination?
